Hello, people.

I'm Interested to contribute & show my FreeBSD use.

FreeBSD 7 -> only firewall on PIII 650

FreeBSD 7 -> on my notebook MSI MegaBook with Gnome, Eclipse & much more.

This work with Debian & win..... on the same environment.

Thanks for contribute.

I am finding that ubuntu is working better for my desktop than freebsd. I still love freebsd for servers though.

Comment #2 Alexis Sarghel (190.137.83.48) -

Wilbur.

FreeBSD work perfect on desktop environment, but ubuntu is for that.

If you love FreeBSD, Go.

Comment #3 Wilbur Corncob from Bogota, Colombia -

I find Ubuntu works better with the USB devices, cameras, flash memory, wireless adapters (though still difficult).

They work with freebsd but need to be mounted manually, etc. Also, "Flash" works better though I don't like it.

I wish FreeBSD would clean up a few of those lose ends as I used it on my desktop for 2 years and just changed to Ubuntu.

Comment #4 Alexis Sarghel from Tucumán, Argentina -

I use FreeBSD 7 RELEASE with GNOME 2.20.1, i don't mount any device manually.

in /etc/rc.conf

# add

hald_enable="YES"

in /etc/sysctl.conf

#add

vfs.usermount=1

Then reboot your pc.

I use Ralink WIFI without problem.

Ubuntu works fine with less configuration than FreeBSD.
